We hope you have had a great week! Congressman Kim began his week in New Jersey visiting with local seniors in Burlington before heading to Washington for a busy week of meetings, hearings on foreign policy, and discussing global cooperation and strategy. He looks forward to joining community members over the weekend to celebrate Juneteenth!

We also want to shout out the U.S. Army again who had their 248th birthday this Wednesday. Thank you to all the brave Soldiers who have served our nation in the United States Army since its creation nearly two and a half centuries ago.

Don’t forget to register for Congressman Kim’s Military Service Academy Information Day tomorrow in Hightstown! Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in High School are invited to learn more about the service academy nomination process, important dates, and the academies themselves.

Our office will be joined by representatives from all five of our nation’s service academies, including R.O.T.C.

Congressman Kim Speaks at JROTC Scholarship Awards Ceremony

Last Saturday, Congressman Kim helped celebrate two local cadets at the JROTC Scholarship Awards Ceremony. He joined the Military Officers Association of America’s New Jersey Lakes & Pines Chapter to celebrate their hard work, leadership, and accomplishment receiving their scholarships!

A Visit with Burlington County’s Seniors at the Burlington Masonic Village

On Monday, Congressman Kim spent the morning with local seniors at the Masonic Village in Burlington. As savings on prescription drugs and care costs continue to come in from the Inflation Reduction Act, Congressman Kim spoke about his continued work to deliver further support for seniors and their caregivers.

Congressman Kim Speaks on Foreign Policy for America Panel

Congressman Kim joined Representatives Slotkin, Underwood, and Escobar for a panel discussion at Foreign Policy for America to discuss how open and clear communication with the American people is key to American foreign policy discussions. We are best equipped to tackle global challenges with a strong democracy, strong coalitions, and a comprehensive approach.

Congressman Kim Meets with the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies’ Youth Leadership Academy

Congressman Kim was happy to speak with engaged and passionate young leaders this week participating in the APAICS’ Youth Leadership Academy and answer their questions! He encouraged them to keep using their voice to make positive change.

Congressman Kim Shares his Personal Experiences to Underscore the Value in Embracing Diversity in U.S. Diplomacy

At a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing this week, Congressman Kim addressed the subject of diversity efforts within the U.S. State Department. Sharing a story about his time at the State Department, he underscored why embracing these efforts is so important for our democracy.

Congressman Kim was glad to see the State Department end their “assignment restriction” policies earlier this year and believes there’s a lot more work we need to do to try to fix these problems going forward.
