Introducing a Bill to Honor Bolton Army Reservist Michael Clark
[link removed] [[link removed]] Last month we were reminded of the sacrifice of Bolton’s Army Reservist Sergeant First Class Michael Clark who died in a training accident. Unfortunately, tragic accidents like these often expose gaps in our laws. Soon after Michael Clarks’ death, his family was notified that the cost of their health care coverage would significantly increase — all because of an inexplicable law. Joe introduced legislation in the House to fix this flaw not just for the Clarks but for anyone who might be put in this situation in the future. Introducing a Bill to Increase Access for Younger and First-Gen Farmers
[link removed] [[link removed]] Acquiring affordable land is one of the greatest barriers to starting and continuing to farm, especially for younger and first-generation farmers, and The National Young Farmers Coalition has been pushing for federal action on land access. Joe is introducing The Land Access, Security, and Opportunities Act to authorize $100 million to expand related programs at the U.S.D.A. New Federal Funding Heading to Electric Boat for Two Virginia Class Submarines
[link removed] [[link removed]] Another $1 billion in federal funding is on its way to Electric Boat and its suppliers to sustain the two-a-year build rate for new Virginia class submarines! By delivering this funding, the Navy is sending a strong signal to the industrial base to increase capacity while also ensuring we make good on the AUKUS security agreement and sustain our required force structure. Electric Boat is well-positioned to deliver the high-quality submarines our Navy and partners need, and will continue our region’s longstanding role as the nation’s leader in submarine manufacturing.
