Bonnie’s story leaves us in awe. Her remarkable ability to cling to life and find safety and comfort with the most unlikely friends is truly extraordinary.

At just four months old, Bonnie was faced with a choice. Join her herd and face possible slaughter or escape and try to survive. Remarkably, she chose the latter. Her incredible will to live stunned the nearby community, who came to know and grow fond of her. Finding refuge with a group of deer who took her in as one of their own, Bonnie frolicked and coexisted with them for about eight months.

However, she couldn’t survive in the wild forever. Concerned members of the community contacted Farm Sanctuary to secure a plan to transfer Bonnie to her new home. And after many attempts, she was now in good hands.
