Friend, later this month will mark one year since the Dobbs decision, a catastrophic ruling which ended the constitutional right to abortion as we know it. 

In the wake of Dobbs, we've witnessed triumphs, such as in Michigan and Kansas, where statewide elections protected the right to abortion in state constitutions. But these wins have been overshadowed by tremendous losses, like the extreme abortion bans in 20 states such as Florida, North Dakota and Texas.

Let this statistic sink in: Approximately 22 million women and girls of reproductive age in the U.S. now live in states where access to abortion is either heavily restricted or totally inaccessible. 

The Republican Party wants to drag us backward. And right now, they're succeeding. Throughout my entire career, I've seen Republican leaders on the warpath to eliminate abortion, and I know they won't stop until there's a nationwide abortion ban in place. 

But let me be clear: We won't let that happen. Ever. 

My work with American Bridge is focused on holding Republicans accountable, and that means calling them out. Republican lawmakers across the country are working around the clock to strip away our reproductive rights, so we need to work harder.
