Open-Air Theatre: David Walliams' Bad Dad
Bad Dad [ [link removed] ]
Sun 18 June
Newstead Abbey
Gilbert is a bit of a local celebrity. He was no other than the legendary ‘King of the Track’, Gilbert the Great. That was until an accident put a stop to his track-racing days. Driven to desperate measures in order to provide for his son Frank, he agrees to become a get-away driver.
An open-air adaptation of David Walliams’ Bad Dad is the perfect summer family entertainment. So, pack your picnics, grab your wet weather gear or sun-cream (or both), something to sit on, and join Frank and Gilbert in the struggle to escape the clutches of the local crime lord and clear Gilbert’s name.

MacHamLear [ [link removed] ]
Fri 23 June
Wollaton Hall
Take part in a unique experiment that will answer the question keeping literary scholars up at night... which play is the best the Bard has to offer? In this exciting new theatre competition, Macbeth, Hamlet and King Lear are pitted against each other.
MacHamLear is a farcical piece of new writing from award-winning playwright Michael Davies that shamelessly exploits the genius of England’s most celebrated writer. Grab your copy of the Complete Works, a chair/blanket, weather appropriate gear, and a few nibbles, and prepare to be tickled pink as the three iconic plays are performed with passion, pep and punch.
