Here's why I'm asking: bigots across the U.S. have introduced over 530 anti-LGBTQ bills this year and over 75 have been signed into law. Horrifically, most of these bills target health care services for trans youth and kids playing sports.

But there IS good news. LGBTQ+ candidates are stepping up to run and fighting to repeal these homophobic and transphobic bills. Look, John, these bigots are trying to legislate LGBTQ+ people back into the closet. They're trying to intimidate and silence trans kids and their families, remove LGBTQ+ stories and lives from schools and library shelves and ensure anything pro-LGBTQ+ is banned. They're calling anyone who stands up for LGBTQ+ rights "groomers" and "pedophiles," leaning into ancient stereotypes to spread fear. We can't let their hate win in November!
