As many of you know, two weeks ago, Aurora Police Department murdered 14 year old Jor'Dell Richardson. Tomorrow at 5pm, the family of Jor'Dell will be holding a community memorial and procession starting at the Aurora Municipal Center. Please join the family and community in remembering Jor'Dell and demanding justice for their son.
On Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom and the "end" of slavery in our nation. But slavery is still happening in Colorado - and Governor Jared Polis is fighting to preserve it in court.
On Monday, June 19th from 6:00-8:00pm, join us for a panel discussion with justice advocates, civil rights attorneys, labor organizers, faith leaders, and people who were formerly incarcerated - and enslaved - about the ongoing battle against slavery in our state, grounded in research and insights from DU professor Michael Gibson-Light’s new book, Orange Collar Labor.
