Returning Bruce?s Beach: A 100-Year Journey to Justice was nominated in the Culture/History category and?Rompiendo Barreras (Breaking Barriers), which appeared on our Spanish language news magazine show, El Condado Contigo, was nominated in the Informational Series category. A 100-Year Journey to Justice highlighting Los Angeles County?s groundbreaking effort to right historic wrongs by returning the beachfront property wrongfully seized from Black owners a century ago. Lunch at the Library Returns
LA County Library?s annual Lunch at the Library program returns, providing free, nutritious meals to kids and teens 18 and under during the summer months,?helping to ensure that families have access to wholesome meals.
From June 12 ? August 4, fifteen select libraries will be offering lunch on a first come, first served basis from 12 ? 1 pm, either Monday ? Friday or Tuesday ? Friday, depending on the location.?There are no restrictions on family income. Free meals must be eaten at the Library.

Youth at Work
LA County youth can get up to 160 hours of paid work experience and explore new career pathways through Youth at Work Elevate! Youth participants ages 14-24 will be placed in high growth business sectors or with employers offering high-road jobs.
Youth will have access to career consultation and professional development, mentorship hands on training, and work experience!
Current or former foster, justice impacted, currently or previously experienced housing instability or homelessness, and LGBTQ+ youth are encouraged to apply! Youth can visit here to get started.?
Laptop and Hotspot Lending
Whether you are looking to apply for a job, access school resources, or simply a way to stay chat with friends and family, our laptop loans are here to help get you connected. We offer laptops for use inside our library and for customers to borrow and take home.
All laptops and hotspots require a full access Adult card to check out. Call your nearest library location for details about signing up or upgrading your digital card.

Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair
Join Team Holly J. Mitchell for their 3rd Annual Second Supervisorial District Juneteenth Celebration & Resource Fair on Sunday, June 18, from 9:00 a.m. ? 4:00 p.m. The event will take place in collaboration with CicLAvia - South L.A. at South Vermont Ave. and Century Blvd.?Register ahead of time to gain access to services like record expungement, tenant protection, immigration rights, mental health, and more! All of this to go along with live music, great food, FREE activities, and local vendors.

Parks After Dark returns this summer season with?FREE?activities at 34 LA County Parks! This year, Parks After Dark brings more fun for all ages! Each week brings a theme, in addition to Teen Zones, Senior Social Hours, Aquatics, movies and concerts in the park. Join us for endless fun during another endless summer!
