Border Security and Immigration: Common Sense Solutions - The crisis at the Texas-Mexico border takes up headlines every day. It is a devastating situation that affects real lives on both sides of the border, and despite efforts from leaders like U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Kyrsten Sinema, Congress has not reached a consensus on legislative solutions. Part of the problem is that the conversation tends to be divided into “either-or” categories: either border security or immigration reform. The Texas business community maintains that the solution is not an “either-or” scenario. To promote public safety and a competitive workforce, the Texas State Chamber is calling for improvements to border security, DACA, visas, and the U.S. asylum system.

Counter China in Defense Bill, not Schumer’s ‘China Bill 2.0’ - Monday on the Senate floor, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) discussed the need to counter threats from China through the national defense authorization bill instead of Majority Leader Schumer’s partisan 'China bill 2.0.' “The bipartisan national defense authorization bill should be the centerpiece of our efforts… not a bill put together behind closed doors with members having only the chance to vote yes or no in final passage. Senators on both sides will have an opportunity, in contrast under the NDAA, to offer amendments and to be able to shape that bill," said Cornyn.

They rely on AM to provide them with news, especially local news, as well as safety alerts, talk radio, sports and music. Now, several major automakers want to take away this important resource in new cars going forward. That would be a serious mistake.
