Teammates — it’s Patrick Denny, Finance Director for Wes Moore here.
You might be wondering why the heck I'm still here asking for money – we got Wes and Aruna elected, so why keep fundraising?
I'll explain in a second, but first I want to ask if you'll help keep us on track to raise $20,000 this month by pitching in your first donation of $5 (or whatever you can) right now.
Here's why we're still fundraising for the campaign:
- Stay ready so you don't have to get ready. It's a lot harder to start a massive campaign operation like ours when everything's gone dark for two years than if you keep a few lights on. We don't want to start a re-election campaign at a disadvantage.
- There will always be those who try to take Maryland backward. We know that the fight for what is right is simply never done. Already we've seen the NRA sue our state simply because Wes signed new gun safety legislation. Having the resources to communicate the work Wes is doing is critical.
- Why put off to tomorrow what you can do today? If you ever left a homework assignment to the last minute, it's the same idea for a campaign. Just like it's easier if you break up a big assignment into smaller deadlines, it's a lot easier for my team to get the job done if we keep a steady fundraising pace now rather than wait two years.
Our fundraising goals these days are smaller than they were a year ago, but they're just as important to hit if we want to keep building a Maryland where no one is left behind.
We need to raise $20,000 before our end-of-quarter deadline on June 30. Can you donate $5 or more to help, please?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: |
