On Tuesday we sent out a call for tips and donations to help us with our investigations into extreme right-wing arch villain Mark Robinson, the current Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina and leading GOP Candidate for Governor.

There are mountains of publicly available dirt on Robinson, such as years worth of Facebook posts where he discusses his hatred of LGBTQ and transgender people, Muslims, and Jews (whom he believes run every country through central banks). In these posts he even went as far as to call the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, “spoiled, angry, know it all children", "spoiled little bastards", and "media prosti-tots", and said that mass shootings are "karma" for abortion.

Though incredibly disturbing, this information is unfortunately par for the course in the conservative political landscape of 2023 and unlikely to make GOP primary voters bat an eye.

In our experience the information that does sway conservative voters is that which calls into question a candidate’s so called ‘conservative values.’

For instance, when we tried to draw attention to Madison Cawthorn’s attempt to bring a gun onto an airplane or expose his ties to extreme right-wing paramilitary groups the stories gained little traction amongst his base. However, when American Muckrakers PAC exposed a video of him sexually assaulting a male member of his staff it sparked outrage amongst his key supporters and was a decisive factor in his 2022 primary defeat.

In the same way we exposed Cawthorn, we hope to expose the contradictions between the conservative beliefs Robinson signals to the public and the inconsistencies with how he actually carries himself in his personal life.

This is why we are excited to say that our Tuesday call for tips on Robinson was heeded by a few North Carolina activists who gave us some juicy information about Robinson’s scandalous personal life. Ask and ye shall receive! So far we have been able to verify/vet one of the tips to the point where we are comfortable with teasing it out a little bit to our list in the hopes that more supporters will come forward with more tips on it:

We have received evidence supporting an allegation that Robinson is having an extramarital affair.

It’s not the first time that Robinson’s personal behavior has veered wildly from his stated political beliefs. Earlier this year it came out that Robinson, who has called for a total abortion ban in North Carolina, paid for his girlfriend, now his wife, to have an abortion.
