How organizations can fight antisemitism and support Jewish workers

Dear John,

Companies and organizations are in a position to help Fight Hate for Good in the U.S. and around the world, so ADL is helping them step up against antisemitism. We are calling on corporations, government agencies and non-profit organizations to take action to fight antisemitism in their workplaces.

By taking the ADL Workplace Pledge to Fight Antisemitism, these influential organizations will agree that:

  • We pledge to address antisemitism in our DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) strategies,
  • We pledge to create or support an employee resource group or affinity group for Jewish employees,
  • We pledge to ensure that we have robust religious accommodation policies,
  • We pledge to use our platforms to speak out if a significant act of antisemitism occurs in the U.S.
Jonathan Greenblatt on CNBC about Pledge on Antisemitism in the Workplace

This need to address workplace policies is part of the White House National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism, a historic new plan in which ADL played a pivotal role. The need for workplace action is clear given the results of a recent ADL study that found that 16 percent of Americans believe Jews are not as honest as other businesspeople and 26 percent believe Jews have too much power in the business world.

I explained more about this vital need on CNBC a few days ago, and encourage you to watch that segment for more about the challenging environment.

Every company that signs up for the pledge will receive ADL information on antisemitism, religious accommodations and Jewish culture and contributions. They can also sign up for ADL’s new training program, Antisemitism 101 for the Workplace, to help improve their DEI efforts on antisemitism. More than 300 companies have already used this since its launch.

Now is the time for companies to make a real difference in fighting hate. We are proud to help them do the right thing.

P.S. You can help make the first-ever U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism succeed. The plan, which ADL played a pivotal role in creating, includes addressing workplace antisemitism as part of its sweeping work to take on anti-Jewish hate on campus, online and from extremists on both the far right and the far left. Click here to urge Congress to fully fund these efforts and ensure the Biden Administration effectively implements the strategy.
