As we head into summer, I wanted to check in with you about my upcoming town hall and other happenings in Congress and our community.

Gun Violence Prevention Telephone Town Hall

I speak with community members every day on issues that matter most to them. What I continue to hear time and time again is that community members are worried about our nation’s gun violence epidemic. Unfortunately, our community is not immune to this problem.

That’s why my 74th town hall, since joining Congress, will be focused on gun violence prevention. Join me on Monday, June 26 at 6 p.m. for a conversation on how we can prevent gun violence before it happens and foster safer communities. I’ll be joined by Todd Price, District 8 Commissioner of the Pennsylvania Game Commission, who will be available to answer questions you may have.

Bipartisan Good News from Washington, D.C.

This week, my colleagues and I voted on a bill introduced by Representative Michael Lawler, a Republican from New York, to establish a special envoy in the State Department focused on encouraging countries without diplomatic relations with Israel to establish formal diplomatic, economic and security ties with the country. The Special Envoy for the Abraham Accords Act, which was passed in an overwhelmingly bipartisan way, will help maintain peace in the region.

Updates on the I-95 Collapse

Finally, I’m sure you’ve heard about the horrific bridge collapse on I-95 this past weekend. Perhaps, it has even impacted your commute. I am thankful for our public servants who are working tirelessly to help the Philadelphia region recover from this disaster. I will continue to monitor this situation and stand ready to help with federal resources.
