There has always been bitter partisanship. There has always been political grandstanding. There has always been loose talk of retribution when power changes hands.

But only Donald Trump — out of all the men who have served as President of the United States since our nation’s founding — flouted the law so egregiously that federal charges were all but required to uphold the rule of law itself.*

Many Republican leaders — in Congress, in governors’ mansions, and even among Trump’s rivals for his party’s nomination — are STILL defending the man and parroting lies about the case against him.

Stop defending the indefensible. You know this was wrong, whatever phony justifications and legalistic excuses Trump concocts. This one is easy — just say it’s wrong.
