John, today marks eleven years since the Obama administration introduced the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy.
And as the only member of Congress coming from a mixed-status household, I've talked a lot about how pushing the needle on this issue means a lot to me.
Before I tell you any more, immigration reform is going to be a big issue during 2024 elections. If I want to continue pushing the needle and fighting for what we need, early grassroots support for my next race is absolutely crucial. Please, John, will you chip in today? [[link removed]]

In Illinois alone, there are over 30,000 DACA recipients, like my husband, Boris.
And while Republicans insist on dehumanizing them, I want to make it clear: we're talking about children.
These are the children who came to a new country, some completely on their own, with people who spoke a language they didn't understand.
These are the children whose lives were put at risk, on the chance that they could have a better life.
These are the children who grew up to work and contribute over $6 billion to federal taxes annually and still cannot vote.
But they aren't children anymore, John, and making good on our promise for a path to citizenship, along with affordable healthcare, housing and education, is long overdue.
And while we've made steps in the right direction, the work is very far from over.
Like I said, this is a very personal issue for me, and I want to continue fighting for our people. But with 2024 on everyone's mind, it's clear our next race is going to be even tougher than our last one. Early grassroots support is vital – will you donate any amount today? [[link removed]]
