In a recently released ad, my Republican opponent launched her campaign with a new abortion ban proposal that shows that she is drastically out of touch with the voters in western Henrico. She knows that reproductive rights will play a major role in our race for the 16th District, given Virginia’s status as the last remaining state in the south that hasn’t restricted abortion rights since Roe was overturned.
Her extremist policy upends the status quo in the state and strips Virginian women of their fundamental right to reproductive healthcare. She thinks that soft music, a homey setting, and gentle words will disguise a policy that strips women of their rights.
I am the only pro-choice candidate in the race and unequivocally oppose additional restrictions.
Virginians want to uphold our current laws that give women access to critical healthcare services, including abortion. I am focused on protecting a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions with control over her own bodily autonomy.
