Palestine in America: Change Through Engagement and Activism

Dear Email,

We're excited to announce Palestine Advocacy Day 2023 (PAD), which will take place from October 23rd-24th in Washington, DC. Three years after the Covid-19 pandemic and its domestic and global repercussions, we are back and stronger than ever. During the pandemic, we continued our advocacy day virtually, which was effective and impactful. Nonetheless, this year we are excited to resume our program in person and cannot wait to see you in our nation's capital advocating for Palestinian rights.

American attitudes towards Palestine are becoming evermore positive, thanks to the dedicated efforts of organizations like AJP Action and American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), the support of allies, and the resilience of the Palestinian people. Recent polls, such as the March 2023 Gallup Poll and the University of Maryland's poll, reflect these changing attitudes. But now is not the time to rest - we must translate this momentum into lasting policy change.

Our work in shaping the narrative about Palestine, once viewed as a challenging task, has now become an established conversation within Congress, among ethnic groups, within the Democratic Party, and across generational lines. The acceptance of referring to Israel as an apartheid state is one of the numerous testimonies of our relentless efforts.

However, as we celebrate these victories, we also acknowledge that they are not enough. Our opponents are aware of the shifts in attitudes towards Palestine and Israel and are working tirelessly to undermine them. We need to be more engaged, more passionate, and more creative than ever. We need to sustain our momentum, multiply our efforts, and upgrade our strategies.

Palestine Advocacy Day has been a transformational tool in the fight for Palestinian rights in the U.S., contributing significantly to the shifts we now see. We invite you to join us in our endeavor to broaden participation, expand our scope, and invest more in advocacy. The struggle for justice requires constant vigilance and action.

The Palestinian people have found their voice through relentless resistance, perseverance, and resilience. Let's amplify their voices in America and fight for their freedom and for an end to U.S. complicity.

This year, our training will provide comprehensive courses on legislative advocacy, understanding the U.S. political process, speaking to elected officials, and making impactful specific policy requests.

Stay tuned for more updates on our advocacy days in October. Together, we can keep this momentum going and drive real change.

Be sure to register ASAP and share with your friends and family.

In solidarity,

Dr. Osama Abu Irshaid

Executive Director, AJP Action
