Dear John ,
TAKE ACTION NOW: Tell your legislator to act on clean water. [[link removed]]
There’s a lot happening very quickly at the State Capitol regarding our groundwater and drinking water.
The full Assembly is expected to be in session two days next week. Then, they could be done for the rest of the year. We don’t have much time to ensure that two critical water bills on lead and PFAS are on the floor to be adopted, and one very bad bill to pollute our groundwater standards process is killed.
Here’s the skinny. We need you to send a message to your representative asking them to do these three things:
• Oppose the Polluting the Groundwater Process Bill (AB 794)
• Support the Getting Started on Funding and Setting Health Standards PFAS bills (AB 842 & AB 843
• Support the SCHOOLs bills to remove lead pipes and fixtures from schools and daycares (SB 423 & SB 424)
You have an opportunity to help move clean water forward right now. The first piece of legislation is an attempt by polluters to insert their agenda into the state’s process for protecting groundwater quality. The other two pieces will help protect Wisconsinites from toxic PFAS and lead pollution.
Click this link and we’ll send a message directly to your representative. [[link removed]] You can also edit the message to include your own story about why clean drinking water matters to you.
Time is running out to make sure these clean water priorities advance because the Assembly could end its session within the week.
Tell your representative to support clean water right now. [[link removed]]
