Join us for the second event in our Equal Play series, sponsored by Wates Group, supporting parents, caregivers and influential adults to challenge gender stereotypes with their kids.

Wednesday 5th July
12.00pm via Zoom
Free, but registrations essential

This online panel and Q&A will examine the role that gender stereotypes in early childhood play in the career decisions and outcomes of children. Our experts will aim to arm parents, carers, career advisors and practitioners with practical advice on supporting children to be themselves when they grow up – whether that is girls taking up STEM subjects, but boys pursuing careers in caring professions.

We'll be joined by Yasmin Qureshi MP, Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon (Co-founder, Stemettes), Eoghan O'Lionaird (Chief Executive, Wates Group) and moderator Alesha De-Freitas (Head of Policy, Fawcett Society).

Fawcett research has shown that gender stereotypes result in girls, by age six, avoiding subjects they view as requiring them to be "really, really smart", which reads across to lower take-up of STEM subjects in later life.

Join our inspiring expert panel to discuss how tackling gender stereotypes can break the mould and expand the potential for all kids.
