Friend —
We know we’ve sent a lot of emails so far this month. We acknowledge it. We admit it. We know your inboxes can feel like they’re bursting at the seams, from us and lots of other candidates.
Given that, we just wanted to take a second to explain why we’ve sent this many emails, why now, and what they mean to our campaign.
First important fact: Elissa’s campaign isn’t taking a dime of corporate PAC money. We are going to be funded primarily by lots and lots of people making small donations. That’s how it’s been these first 100 days, where nearly two-thirds of the online contributions we’ve received have come from email and text messages – there’s no greater source of donations than those texts and emails.
Then there’s the timing: There’s actually no more important time for people to give than right now. Why? Because of the importance of strategic planning. Raising money now helps us build the foundation for a winning campaign, hire staff, rent office space, reserve early ad space, and will allow us to start reaching voters sooner and more often, and more strategically.
So we hope you’ll excuse the uptick in emails. When you see us in your inbox, remember that when Elissa wins this race you’ll know that it was individuals like you, not big corporate PACs, that got her there.
So here’s our ask:
