Jack, happy Pride! Thank you for championing equal rights and freedoms for all in our communities.

Horribly, those rights are under attack as GOP legislatures continue jamming through anti-LGBTQ+ bills. LGBTQ+ people have a right to exist and participate in society with the same rights and legal protections as everyone else. Congress can outlaw discrimination against LGBTQ+ people right now.

LGBTQ+ rights are under attack. There is an unprecedented wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in 2023– at least 417 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced in the first quarter of 2023. Over one dozen states have passed bans and limitations.

We are now in a situation where people and their families in hostile states have to try and protect themselves from anti-LGBTQ+ hate.

No one in this country should live in fear of existing. This is bigoted, homophobic discrimination and it must be made illegal immediately.
