John,
Coming in early for Netroots or local to Chicago? I wanted to let you know about two pre-conference trainings happening Wednesday evening before Netroots kicks off: Activism in Overdrive: How to Use the Powers of Art to Have More Impact and Ready, Set, Run for Something.
Both of these trainings are happening at the Chicago Hilton starting at 5 p.m. and are FREE to attend, whether or not you are registered for Netroots Nation 2023.
Interested in attending one of these free trainings? Read on for more information and make sure you RSVP, because space is limited.
Activism in Overdrive: How to Use the Powers of Art to Have More Impact
Wednesday, July 12 at 5 p.m.
Joyful. Vibrant. Safe. Sexy. Accessible. Inspiring. Irresistible. These are not the words we often associate with voting—especially not in 2023, when there are staggering challenges to voters all over the country. We need to counter conditions that work against people simply trying to cast their ballot, make their voices heard, and protect their fundamental freedoms. But we know civic engagement can be all those things—and must be all those things—to mobilize at the mass scale we need to make a more just country and world.
At the Center for Artistic Activism, we help people use the powers of art to overcome incredible odds and build campaigns that win — and win big. Join us for a pre-convention training on Wednesday to learn the tools you need to infuse your civic engagement efforts with creativity, innovation, imagination, and more impact. RSVP here.
Ready, Set, Run for SomethingWednesday, July 12 at 5 p.m.
Run for Something recruits and supports passionate, diverse, young progressives running for local office.
- We’ve changed the national conversation around seeking public office.
- We recruit passionate problem-solving young people to run for state
and local elected offices like school board, city council, and state
legislature, which results in better policy right away and a better
pipeline of federal and statewide candidates in the future.
- We support them with training, mentorship, resources, endorsements, and with a strong community of other candidates.
Come and learn about what it takes to run for office, how to get started, and how Run for Something can help! This event is open to anyone who wants to learn more about running for local office. RSVP here.
Again, both of these trainings are free and open to anyone, regardless of whether you're attending Netroots or not.
See you there!
