Friend of Israel,

In 1967, Arab leaders gathered in Sudan to declare the infamous “Three No’s”:

NO peace with Israel… NO negotiations with Israel… NO recognition of Israel.

While Egypt and Jordan later signed peace treaties with Israel, other Arab nations declined to follow.

But today, a new era has emerged in Arab-Israeli relations, as the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco all agreed to normalize relations with Israel.

These agreements opened new opportunities for enhanced diplomatic, economic and cultural cooperation, as well as a variety of people-to-people programs.

Now, Israel and the United States are working to build upon the Abraham Accords.

Just this week, the House of Representatives passed a bipartisan bill to create the new diplomatic position of an ambassador for the Abraham Accords to help advance Israel's normalization with its Arab neighbors, particularly with Saudi Arabia.

Additional legislation was also introduced in the House (The U.S.-Israel Partnership and Abraham Accords Enhancement Act of 2023), which expresses America’s commitment to Israeli security, bilateral cooperation, and integrating Israel into the broader Middle East through the Abraham Accords.

Our work to strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship helped create the environment for the Abraham Accords. Our vision for a strong and secure Israel, at peace with its neighbors, has now taken another step forward.

In the weeks and months ahead, we must continue to work with America’s leaders to expand on these important agreements, helping to advance peace and regional cooperation between Israel and its Arab neighbors.
