- identifying, flagging, and making immediately accessible to NICS records of persons prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms for domestic violence convictions
- reporting records of persons prohibited from possessing firearms for mental health reasons.

The State Justice Statistics program provides financial and technical assistance to state governments for the establishment and operation of statistical analysis centers to collect, analyze, and disseminate justice statistics. Priority areas this year include?
- core capacity-building projects that focus on enhancing or building access to new sources of data and improving analytical capability of research on criminal justice issues
- special emphasis capacity-building projects that support areas of particular interest to BJS or national priorities.
