Former acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary, Chad Wolf, has accused the Biden administration of using a mobile app to obscure the extent of recent illegal immigration. The app, originally designed to facilitate trade and commerce across the border, has been repurposed to allow illegal immigrants to schedule appointments for asylum claims at ports of entry. However, Wolf suggests that the app lacks necessary checks to verify the validity of these claims. Once immigrants schedule an appointment, they are released into the country to await the resolution of their case, a process Wolf alleges further enables human smuggling and undermines border security. The app's strategy is in direct violation of the law, according to Wolf.
