John —
I’m reaching out today with some exciting news: I joined my colleagues in introducing the
Office of Small Farms Establishment Act, which would create an Office of Small Farms at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Small farms are the backbone of our economy and make up 89% of all farms here in Washington state. And these farms are often small, family-owned businesses.
This law seeks to help small farmers, get them more equitable access to USDA services, and support minority-owned farms. Far too many small farmers are unable to take full advantage of the USDA’s programs. It’s time to change this.
Sign on today to support investment in small farms here in Washington and across the country!
Thank you,
Marilyn
