⚠️Upcoming Roadworks⚠️

29 July - Monday 5 August: Victoria Embankment
Road closed for duration of the Riverside Festival. Signed diversion in place.

Friday 2 - Saturday 3 August: Collin Street, city centre
Lane closure next to C2 bus stop outside Broadmarsh from 10pm Friday until 6am Saturday while Western Power Distribution carry out excavation works.

Saturday 3 - Sunday 4 August: Talbot Street, city centre
Lane closed adjacent to Bowman House to lay a new gas connection.

Monday 5 - Wednesday 7 August: The Wells Road/Woodborough Road junction
Three-way lights in operation while Severn Trent Water renew a meter. Work to be carried out off-peak (9.30am - 3.30pm).

Monday 5 - Friday 9 August: Arundel Street
Road closed for gas service works. Alternative route via Derby Road, Seely Road and Ilkeston Road

Monday 5 - Friday 9 August: Cockington Road
Road closed for resurfacing. Diversion in place via Trowell Road - Bilborough Road and Trowell Road - Glaisdale Drive West - Westwick Road - Bramhall Hall - Bilborough Road

Monday 5 August - Monday 16 September: Vernon Road
Road closed between Valley Road/Western Boulevard junction to Nottingham Road/Vernon Road junction outbound only for gas mains renewal. Diversion via Vernon Road and Valley Road/Nottingham Road

Tuesday 6 - Thursday 8 August: Beckhampton Road
Two-way lights in operation near Hawthorn Lodge from 8am - 5pm each day to enable new water connection.

1 July - 1 September: Pemberton Street North - city centre
Road closed for construction works

Monday 15 July - Sunday 4 August: London Road A60 - city centre
Road closure southbound overnight 7pm - 5am for resurfacing works. DIversion via Cattle Market - County Road - Meadow Lane - Lady Bay Bridge

Monday 29 July - Monday 5 August: Bestwood Road
Two way lights to install connections for new development.  

Monday 29 July - Friday 9 August: Vernon Road junction with Vernon Avenue
Two way lights in operation for gas works. These will be manually controlled during peak times to minimise disruption. 

Monday 29 July - Friday 9 August: Derby Road near junction with North Road and Derby Road outside Queen's Medical Centre
Temporary pedestrian crossing for refurbishment of traffic signals.

Major Roadworks

⚠️ Canal Street gas works ⚠️

From 29 July, major gas replacement works will mean Canal Street is closed westbound from London Road to Trent Street for 14 weeks.

⚠️Tram track replacement⚠️

5 - 18 August, Mount Hooton Road/ Forest Road/ Waverley Street junction closed for tram track works. A signed diversion will be in place. 

In addition, there will be no tram service between The Forest and Old Market Square - a bus replacement service will be in operation.

Thursday 11 July onwards: Castle Boulevard
Work will begin on a new Stepnell development by the canal side which will affect the Western Cycle Corridor. During the construction there will be vehicles using the cycle lane to access the site so please be extra careful when riding along the route. More information here

Saturday 3 August - Sunday 4 August: Castle Boulevard
Partial closure of cycle lane 8.30am - 6pm outside 171 (new development near Boots Opticians) so Severn Trent Water can install new water connection.

⚠️ Advance notice - bank holiday disruption ⚠️

Saturday 24 - Monday 26 August: Work will be taking place across a number of East Midlands Trains routes, including to Newark, Lincoln and Leicester. In addition, trains to and from London, Peterborough and Ely are expected to be particularly busy due to major works taking place on the East Coast Mainline.

Several timetables have been amended and passengers are advised to check their routes and avoid travelling if possible.

We're expecting it to be busy on the roads tomorrow afternoon (Saturday 3 August) as Riverside Festival returns and Nottingham Forest play their first game of the season.

🎇Riverside Festival - The East Midlands' biggest free festival returns to the banks of the Trent this weekend.

Celebrating summer with the usual blend of live music, river-based activities, massive funfair and kids' zone, food and drink, crafts and loads more, including the Saturday night fireworks!

🚌Take advantage of extra Nottingham City Transport buses running after the fireworks.

⚽️Nottingham Forest - play their first game of the season against West Brom on Saturday afternoon. Kick off is at 5.30pm at County Ground.

🚎Use the free shuttle from the station to City Ground for NET Nottingham Tram passengers going to the football
