Howdy, John! 🤠
Over the past few months, we’ve brought some amazing folks onto TFN’s leadership team. Meet them below!

Kelsey oversees TFN’s operational, administrative, and financial functions and works with the President and staff leadership to guide the strategy and programs of the organization.
Kelsey is a seasoned professional with 18 years of experience in nonprofit finance and operations. She holds a degree in Economics from UT Austin and is currently a Commissioner on the City of Austin's Economic Prosperity Commission. With a strong belief in equity within nonprofits, she focuses on creating sustainable financial models that reflect an organization's values. Since 2009, Kelsey has been actively involved in the Austin nonprofit community. Her expertise lies in developing and implementing effective financial strategies that align with an organization's mission and promote good stewardship of community resources.
Dr. Lawrence D. Green (he/him/his) - Vice President of People & Culture [[link removed]]
Dr. Green works to cultivate an equitable and inclusive organizational culture by using people-centered practices to ensure a healthy and sustainable organization while also serving as the head of Human Resources at TFN.
Dr. Green is a 2008 and 2012 presidential campaign veteran with extensive leadership experience in start-up, expansion, and change management within for-profit and nonprofit organizations. A social-impact executive, he has a demonstrated track record establishing and managing high-performing teams, budgets, programs, and funder relationships, while operationalizing values critical to mission-driven work. He earned his doctorate from Vanderbilt University, is a diehard Rascal Flatts fan, and resides in Austin.
Ofelia Alonso (she/her/hers) - Texas Rising Director [[link removed]]
Ofelia has been involved with Texas Rising since 2015, having previously served as the Statewide Program Manager and as a student leader at UTRGV Brownsville before that.
Ofelia is an immigrant from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, raised in Brownsville. She brings experience in political and issues-based campaigns, grassroots organizing, voter engagement, advocacy, coalition building, training curriculum development, and staff management. Ofelia is passionate about inspiring young Texans to use their voting power at the ballot box and the importance of fighting for equity and social justice in their communities through local advocacy. In 2020, she co-founded the Rio Grande Valley Young Leaders Fellowship, a cohort of young organizers. Through that fellowship, Ofelia was able to create a space focused on the collective effort to create an inclusive, just, and thriving Rio Grande Valley — a future where there are no borders and we are able to move freely as we connect with our loved ones.
Our growing team is endlessly thankful for your support and dedication to our fight for a better Texas!
Onward,
