As part of our Outright Proud campaign and the work we do year round, we are launching our third annual Pride report ([link removed]) on June 21, 2023 titled: We Remain Resilient: Pride Around the World in 2022.

With support from Google.org, this report traces the development of Pride events and other LGBTIQ visibility gatherings in all parts of the world.

Moderator ([link removed])

Ohotuowo Ogbeche (she/her) is a writer, lawyer, researcher, feminist, and LGBTIQ rights advocate from Nigeria. As Outright’s Global Researcher, she designs and conducts research geared toward the promotion of LGBTIQ persons’ rights worldwide.

Panelists ([link removed])

Hiker Chiu is a pioneer of the intersex human rights movement in the Asian region from Taiwan who founded OII-Chinese, the first human rights advocacy organization and information platform for Chinese-speaking intersex people, in 2008. Hiker Chiu was the first intersex person to come out in Taiwan publicly, initiating the “Global Free Hugs with Intersex Movement” on the 8th Taipei Pride in 2010. Currently, Hiker serves as the Chair and Executive Director for Intersex Asia.

Umut Rojda Yıldırım (he/him) is a lawyer and an LGBTI+ rights activist. He works in the field of LGBTI+ rights in Turkey. Graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law. Since 2019, he has been an active member of the LGBTI+ movement. He worked as SPoD's Legal and Access to Justice Coordinator between 2021-2023. He is currently undertaking volunteer duty as SPoD Legal Team Manager. Since 2021, he has been involved in legal processes related to Pride Marches.

Noelle Campbell (she/her) is a registered nurse, LGBTQIA rights advocate, and an avid sports fan. As the Health and Wellness Programme Manager at the Equality for All Foundation (EFAF), she is primarily responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing as well as monitoring and evaluating the organisation’s health and wellness programme in an effort to foster the development of an environment where LGBT people’s right to health are protected, promoted and respected.

Nadine Smith (she/her) is the Executive Director of Equality Florida, the state's largest organization dedicated to ending discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. In 2022, she was named to the Time100, TIME's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. An award-winning journalist turned organizer, Nadine was one of four national co-chairs of the 1993 March on Washington. She was part of the historic meeting between then-President Clinton - the first Oval Office meeting between a sitting President and LGBTQ community leaders.
