Dear john,
In the 28th Congressional District of Texas, the homeownership rate (70.2%) is higher than the rest of the state (62.4%) and the country (64.6%), according to the National Association of Realtors.
Homeownership has long been the primary mechanism for families to build wealth, meaning that families in my district are able to save more money for retirement by owning a home. Homeownership also increases social stability, as families are not subject to undue rent increases or other factors that might force relocation.
It will continue to be my priority to create avenues for all families in my district to own a home at an affordable price.
As always, if you need help with a federal agency, please contact one of my offices: - Washington, DC: (202) 225-1640
- Laredo: (956) 725-0639
- San Antonio: (210) 271-2851
- Rio Grande City: (956) 487-5603

I also met with the Greater San Antonio Builders Association. As I mentioned above, homeownership in TX-28 is higher than both the state and national averages. To keep up with increasing demand for homes, we must support our homebuilders.
Thank you for visiting me!

A big thank you to the entire team at The Alamo for inviting Eric Cleveland from my office to tour your restoration project.
Along with preserving the 300-year-old church and long barrack, recapturing the original mission site and battlefield footprint, and creating a world-class visitor center and museum, the project will create nearly 3,500 new construction-related jobs and generate over $12 billion in economic benefits through the first five years of operations.
