Yesterday, Donald Trump manipulated the United States Department of Justice into possibly reducing the sentence for his longtime accomplice Roger Stone — who was convicted last year on charges including witness tampering and lying to Congress as part of the Mueller investigation.
How?
Via a Twitter tirade, of course.
Basically, Trump’s thumbs said, “Jump!” and his Crony Attorney General, Bill Barr, said, “How high?”
Sadly, this flagrant violation of norms is not the least bit surprising, since Mitch McConnell and Trump’s other Republican bootlickers in the Senate — through their rigged impeachment cover-up — have further stoked Trump’s dictatorial impulses.
I’m not going to ask you to sign a petition for Barr’s law license to be revoked.
Or for Congress to investigate the Department of Justice.
Or for Trump to be impeached (again).
Not that those are bad ideas.
But I do want to know what you think:
Is it WRONG for Donald Trump and Bill Barr to collude on a reduced sentence for Roger Stone?
YES
NO
