Florida Governor and Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis’s latest political stunt involves shipping migrants across the country — including to California — and allegedly promising them jobs and other forms of assistance. But instead, as California Dem AG Rob Bonta said, these asylum seekers “were dumped, and deserted, and left.”

It’s absolutely disgusting that DeSantis would exploit human beings coming to our country seeking safety and a better life. Instead of supporting them with compassion, he lied to them.

Thankfully, AG Bonta is fighting back against this “state-sanctioned kidnapping” and looking into potential criminal and civil charges against the Florida Governor and anyone else involved. He’s been clear in calling out DeSantis for this shameful political stunt. This is another example of why having strong Dem AGs in office is so critical.
