Jack, as slimy as state Sen. Joe Morrissey is, defeating him NEXT WEEK is not a done deal.
This Republican-turned-Democrat-turned-Independent-turned-Democrat won his 2015 election from prison. Yes, he was currently serving time for the delinquency of a minor after having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old assistant at his law firm—and won!
But here's the thing: He won only 42% of the 2,840 ballots cast—that's pretty low voter turnout. With a strong get-out-the-vote operation that turns out every progressive voter, Lashrecse Aird can crush this pro-life Democrat at the polls.
That's why, with less than one week left until the primary election, RIGHT NOW is the time to support Lashrecse Aird's campaign with a donation of $12 or whatever amount is meaningful to you.

The only thing standing in the way of Gov. Glenn Youngkin passing a 15-week abortion ban is the state Senate, where Democrats have, on paper, a narrow 22-18 advantage. If the anti-abortion Morrissey wins next week, that edge is really only 21-19.
The 13th District is solidly blue territory: Voters there favored Joe Biden by a wide 62-37 margin. Whoever wins the primary next week is very likely to win the general. This is our chance to stand up for safe and legal abortion access. Please support Lashrecse Aird with a donation today.
Thank you for all you do,

Jack, state Sen. Joe Morrissey is a train wreck of a human being.
He has been disbarred as an attorney twice. He served three months in jail for a relationship with his 17-year-old law assistant, who he later married. She recently filed for divorce and alleges that Morrissey had physically and emotionally abused her, including choking her while she was pregnant. He openly admits to fathering eight children from five different women.
This is not a human being who should be making decisions about anyone else's body.
However, if reelected, Morrissey will do just that. He is an anti-abortion Democrat that has signaled that he will side with Republican Governor Youngkin's 15-week abortion ban. Democrats are defending a razor-thin Senate majority, Morrissey's defection on abortion could help Republicans enact an abortion ban.
That's why Daily Kos has proudly endorsed former state Del. Lashrecse Aird, who is running to unseat anti-choice state Sen. Joe Morrissey in the fast-approaching June 20 Democratic primary.
Aird could not be more different. She's been a tireless champion of progressive causes ever since she first won election to the state legislature in 2015, a victory that, at the age of 28, made her the youngest woman ever elected to the House of Delegates.
We have the opportunity to replace a lousy anti-choice Democrat with a bona fide progressive! Please donate $12 now to help Lashrecse Aird send Joe Morrissey packing!
