As a campaigner, you’re always going to get people who think that what you’re
doing is wrong. I’m sure in your personal life, you have experienced people
disagreeing with you and sitting on the wrong side of a debate.



The only difference with our opponents, is they have the resources to really
fight against us and prevent dying people from having choice and control. We
can’t let them win.



I’m Fran, and I’ve worked on the campaign for seven years. I’ve seen the
campaign go from strength to strength. Sadly, so have our opponents.



Our recent successes have caused them to double down their efforts. I can feel
their desperation. They have huge networks which they use to their advantage to
spread their anti-choice agenda.



Our opponents are good, but we’re better. That’s because we have one thing
they’ll never have - millions of people backing our movement. But do you know
exactly how much of the UK population wants assisted dying legalised?

Our opponents claim to speak for whole groups of people, despite the facts. On
their website they say things like “The vast majority of UK doctors are
opposed”. This is simply untrue.



In 2019 the largest medical body, the British Medical Association (BMA),
surveyed its members. They found a clear majority wanted the BMA to drop their
opposition and half of all doctors wanted the choice of assisted dying
themselves . That’s why the BMA has rightly moved to a position of neutrality.
