Dear John,
It's officially summer! With the heat rising, we think it's an important time to raise awareness of how animals are so often used in summer events around the country, and how that affects their precious lives.
The beautiful weather brings so much positivity and excitement to people, with many families busy planning their summertime fun for when the kids break up from school. This time of year sees a flurry of activities pop up across the UK, with summer fetes, festivals, garden shows, fairs and concerts all popular visitor attractions when the sun is shining.
They are all fun events that should be enjoyed without consequence. However, there has sadly been a real rise in the use of animals at events such as these, with falconry shows, mobile zoos and petting farms widely present at both small and large scale events throughout the country.
Animals used this way are forced to suffer long or cramped journeys, or endure hours on end in the high degree heat with little to no shade, to be then handled by the public or displayed in shows for entertainment.
This cruelty must end. With your help we can spread the word on the truth behind mobile zoos and how animals are used in entertainment, and make a difference for animals!
You can help by using our 'Report a Mobile Zoo ([link removed]) ' tool, to tip us off on any events that are advertised in your area that plan to use live animals as props. Without you, we would not be able to see all the events happening across the UK, and take action for animals.

Our past action against St.Cedds Church mobile zoo event in February saw an amazing 657 of you taking a stand in ONE DAY, by emailing the organisers to cancel the use of animals. Sadly, the organisers went ahead with the event as planned this time, and are still yet to respond to our demand that they cease the use of live animals as props at their future events. We will not give up, and will continue to work to prevent these cruel events from occurring in the future.
Thank you to each and every one of you who took part in this action, and all actions past and present. Without you, we would not be able to raise awareness on the plight of animals, and work towards securing a better future for them.
We are busy working behind the scenes on the devastating mobile zoo issue, and will soon have more news to share - so keep your eyes peeled for an update coming your way!
TAKE ACTION FOR ANIMALS! ([link removed])
Alongside reporting mobile zoos you may come across in your area, there are so many ways to get involved and help animals across our many other active campaigns, including:
* 'No More Zoo Secrets' ([link removed]) - Join us in demanding transparency from the zoo and aquarium industry that holds thousands of animals captive across the UK.
* South Lakes Zoo Petition ([link removed]) - Sign our live petition and join us in demanding Barrow-in-Furness Council revokes the zoo's licence and forces its closure.
* Petition to stop the new zoo in Trowell ([link removed]) - Sign our petition to ensure Broxtowe Council rejects the cruel plans.
* Online Safety Bill action ([link removed]) - Take action to help include animals on the Online Safety Bill. There has been recent news that the government have failed to take action and include animals in the bill at this stage, so it is vitally important we continue to speak up for animals as the bill moves through government.
Please help animals by clicking the above links and taking action ([link removed]) today!
HELP ANIMALS THIS SUMMER! ([link removed])
Your continued support means we are able to carry out vital investigations on a range of important issues within zoos, circuses and mobile zoos. We currently have to keep the details under wraps to protect both the investigators and the campaigns themselves, but we are looking forward to sharing what we've found with you very soon! We could not carry out this crucial work without you - so thank you!
SUPPORT OUR INVESTIGATIONS HERE! ([link removed])
Thank you for your support in the continued fight for animal freedom. With your help we can raise awareness on the terrible suffering mobile zoos and other exploitative industries cause in the name of entertainment, and stand up for the animals imprisoned in them. See you on the streets!
