John, sorry this email is a bit longer, but it's a very important update about Congresswoman Barbara Lee's Senate campaign.

By now, I’m sure you’ve already heard: We were outraised and outspent last quarter by two other candidates in this race. And on top of that, political experts are already predicting this could be the most expensive Senate primary in our nation's history. (You can donate here to help us win.)

And as Rep. Lee's campaign manager, I'm worried. Because, according to recent polling, the congresswoman is statistically tied with the others in this race among informed voters. That means that her vision for progress and her proven track record is resonating with people – but first we have to raise enough money to power this campaign. 

That is why this month's mid-month fundraising deadline is so important. We're just a couple of weeks away from the end of the quarter – when our numbers will be made public for all to see – and if we don't make up our steep fundraising deficit before then, we'll have a serious problem on our hands.

John, I know you joined this team for the same reasons I did – because you're passionate about progress and know that Barbara Lee is the best person for the job. I also know you're already working incredibly hard on this race and that we've asked a lot of you, but now I'm personally asking you to dig a little bit deeper.

Barbara Lee is counting on us to help her raise $100,000 before her most critical mid-month fundraising deadline. So please, if you're able to: Will you rush $5 or more – anything you can spare – to help us hit our mid-month fundraising goal and build a progressive future for all?
