More than 50,000 people have already sent letters to their state governments demanding all public pension funds be divested from fossil fuels. There are already signs our pressure is working. Just weeks ago, New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, who controls the nation’s third largest pension fund, announced he would begin divesting from a limited amount of coal companies after more than a decade of stonewalling divestment demands.

Working together, we can apply even more pressure on all state governments to pull public funds from fossil fuel investments. Every voice counts, and that’s why it’s on all of us to get our friends and networks to take action.
