To be frank, folks, I’m about to ask you to pitch in before my re-election campaign's mid-month deadline. But first, I hope you’ll give me just a few minutes to explain something.

In just a few weeks, we will report our fundraising numbers to the Federal Election Commission for the first time since I announced my re-election campaign to the U.S. Senate.

Shortly after, the total amount we raised and the number of folks who chipped in will go public for all to see — including everyone from Mitch McConnell to potential Republican challengers.

Now, fundraising numbers cannot fully measure the strength of our grassroots team. There are no numbers or words that can capture the compassion and commitment that supporters in New Mexico and across the country have shown for our shared Democratic values.

But a strong showing in our first quarter out of the gate will be a signal to everyone that our grassroots campaign is prepared to keep the Land of Enchantment and the Senate blue. Yet Republicans would see a lackluster report as a sign of weakness and an invitation to start spending big against us.

We can't afford to lose this seat or our majority to Republicans — not when everything from a clean energy future to reproductive rights is at stake.

That’s why I’m asking: Can you chip in any amount before our upcoming mid-month deadline? Your support will help us stay on course to deliver strong fundraising numbers at the end of the quarter.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

As a team, we can build a future that is as boundless as our skies, as majestic as our mesas, and as welcoming as our communities. Thank you.

— Martin
