It’s been a busy few months, and Ami is focused on delivering results for Sacramento County. As we continue on throughout the year, we wanted to make sure you are up to date with his work in Congress.
Read on for more updates on what Ami’s been up to in the past few months!
→ Ami voted in favor of bipartisan legislation to raise the debt ceiling and avoid a dangerous default on our national debt, and is continuing to work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address government spending and reduce the national deficit. He knows just how catastrophic an economic crisis of this magnitude would be for Sacramento County seniors, veterans, and our economy as a whole.
→ Ami has joined legislators in combating the training gap and drop in medical students choosing OB-GYN and osteopathic residencies after the Dobbs ruling. We’re seeing a massive gap in full reproductive training for residents in states with anti-choice laws, resulting in an overall drop in applications. These residents are being robbed of opportunities to receive adequate training on basic reproductive health care, an issue which must be tackled. Click here to read more!
→ In April, Ami joined a bipartisan coalition of doctors to introduce the Strengthening Medicare for Patients and Providers Act. This bill will help doctors continue and improve services for low-income patients, while addressing workforce issues. It would help solve the rising cost of providing care to ensure America’s seniors receive access to the high-quality care they deserve.
→ Ami reintroduced the HERO Act to ensure that our country’s first responders and health care workers have access to mental health resources. We owe it to our first responders – who are at an elevated risk of suicide – to provide them with the support and assistance that they deserve.
John, these are just a few of Ami’s highlights in Congress over the past few months. He is committed to continue delivering results for Sacramento County and our country. Keep up with the happenings by following us on social media.
