I was overjoyed to celebrate Pride Month at Pittsburgh's 50th anniversary Pride parade earlier this month. Together, with community and elected leaders, we made clear that we won't let extreme politicians attacking our LGBTQIA+ family win.

I'm committed to making sure every resident of PA-12 is able to authentically and safely be their true self.

But Pride is about more than parades. That's why I'm reaching out to to you today about an organization doing the real work to advance LGBTQIA+ equality and freedom today — SisTers PGH.

SisTers PGH is a Black and trans-led non-profit organization doing critical work to serve trans and nonbinary people within Southwestern PA. Their affirming programming includes transitional housing, leadership roles, and initiatives created for trans people BY trans people.

I'm proud to support SisTers PGH, so today, I'm coming to you with an action all of us can take to concretely stand up for the LGBTQIA+ community.
