Dear John, Happy Trump Arraignment Day! 🎉🎊🥳
As you likely know, after a multi-month battle with Lauren Boebert’s lawyers — who fought tooth and nail to prevent it — last week we successfully filed a defamation lawsuit against the Congresswoman in a Colorado court.
We can now take a collective sigh of relief knowing that we’ve filed before the statute of limitations expired (it was the Boebert legal team’s strategy to run out the clock and prevent us from filing before the end of June). But the fight is far from over.
With the case now filed and the ball mostly in the hands of our lawyers, the PAC’s core staff now has more bandwidth to start targeting other horrible politicians…
Our newest target is a rising figure within the National GOP whose star we hope to snuff out before he becomes even more powerful – Mark Robinson: North Carolina’s current Lieutenant Governor and GOP candidate for Governor of North Carolina.

While North Carolina currently has a Democratic governor, a former Democratic member of the NC State House recently switched sides giving the Republican legislature a super majority. This has allowed the GOP to override the governor's veto. They’ve already lowered the abortion ban from twenty weeks to twelve weeks, and many in the state GOP — Mark Robinson included — are calling for a complete ban. Some are even demanding that exceptions for rape and incest not be included.
North Carolina is on the precipice of being pulled back to medieval times, and influential right-wing power brokers within the state have selected Mark Robinson to usher in this dark new vision for the state.
Among the long list of sinister beliefs Robinson holds are his desires to ban social studies and science from elementary school curricula, that the 2020 election was rigged, that American-Muslims are invaders, that the North Carolina Board of Education should be abolished, and an intense hatred for LGBTQ which included him effectively condoning the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting. These are but a few examples of the hatred and bigotry that this man exudes. |

Why does this matter for people outside of North Carolina? Much like Arizona and Georgia, North Carolina has emerged as one of the key swing states for the upcoming Presidential Election. With Robinson in power and voter suppression emerging as the Republican’s main electoral strategy, he could effectively nullify this important purple state which could very well decide the future of who leads our nation.
