Today, Donald Trump was arraigned on 37 felony charges in federal court in
Miami — the first time a US president has ever faced criminal charges.
And what is he doing tonight? Hosting his first 2024 campaign fundraiser:
a candlelit dinner at one of his golf clubs in New Jersey, where his
campaign expects to raise $2 million.
Trump did the same thing in March after being indicted for sexual abuse.
His base donated over $4 million in less than 24 hours.

Trump faces 37 federal charges.^1 The main issue is that the former
President refused to hand over classified documents relating to U.S.
nuclear programs and other weapons capabilities after he left office.
The indictment alleges that Trump showed these classified documents to
others on at least 2 different occasions — at the golf club where he’s
hosting tonight’s fundraiser.
In another charge, Trump allegedly hid the documents from his own
lawyer.^2
The twice-indicted former president has promised to stay in the race even
if he’s convicted.
