Hey John,
From book bans, to attacks on the trans community and trans kids, to vile online bullying campaigns, the right wing is trying to attack the LGBTQ+ community at every level. That kind of hate has no home in New York or in our country.
Progress toward equality has been hard-won, so this Pride month, let's honor the activists that came before us and remember there is always more to be done to create a safer, more accepting society. Communities around New York's 16th District held Pride parades last weekend, and I was glad to see so many folks out in support.
Thanks for LGBTQ+ folks and allies in Rye, Greenburgh, and Yonkers for having me! Right now we've got to keep fighting together for LGBTQ+ rights, and I'm always glad to see so many people coming together. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
