John,
Donald Trump was just arraigned in a federal courtroom in Miami, where he plead not guilty to 37 criminal counts including providing false statements, conspiracy to obstruct, and willful retention of classified documents.
He also faces likely additional indictments in the coming months over his violent plot to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
If you’ve been anywhere near a TV or phone, you’re probably aware of this already. It seems possible — finally — that a lifetime of corruption and a decade of demagoguery may be catching up to a man who has evaded accountability for his actions for so long.
But here’s the thing:
We didn’t defeat Trump in 2020 by counting on any external forces to intervene.
And we won’t defeat him — or the authoritarianism that now pervades the entire Republican Party — by sitting on our hands and waiting for things outside our control to happen either.
We need to prepare now to win the same way we’ve won in every single electoral cycle since Trump first stepped foot in the White House: By building a multiracial, working class movement across our differences — and supporting and electing amazing candidates for office at every level who live and breathe that movement.
If you are in, please chip in with a contribution today to help us win in 2023, 2024 and beyond.

Trump will have his day in court. But whether he is found guilty or not, and whether he becomes the Republican nominee or not, we know the attacks from MAGA Republicans will continue.
We see it almost every day, from attacks on the LGBTQ+ movement to banning books in schools to attempts to overrule the will of voters to the state-by-state rollback of reproductive rights.
Once again, it’s going to take all of us to fight back and defend our freedoms. But we know we can beat them — because we’ve done it time and time again.
It’s what we did in 2018, when we took back Congress from Republicans and helped elect the Squad.
It’s what we did in 2020, when we came together to kick Trump out of the White House, gave Democrats a majority in the Senate, and made sure no one could overturn the will of the people.
It’s what we did in 2022, when we defied all expectations for a midterm year and elected another slate of WFP champions to Congress and all the way down the ballot.
And it’s what we need to do in 2023, 2024, and for as long as it takes if we’re going to build the type of country and world that we want to live in.
We can’t count on anyone else to save us from Trump and Trumpism. We can only count on each other. Can you chip in to help us recruit, train, and elect more working people to office who share our vision of a country that works for the many, not the few?
