Dear Friend,
In April, I wrote to AFSC supporters like you to share our plans to supply elders in Gaza with essentials such as wheelchairs, walkers, medical mattresses, and hygiene items. We are so grateful to our Partner for Peace monthly donors and to everyone who responded to our call for donations!
Recent Israeli airstrikes made conditions in Gaza even worse than they were when we began our project. More than 33 people were killed over five days, and more than a thousand homes were damaged. Our team recently met with Hazem, 65, at the site where his home used to be. I hope you will watch his video update to see the site and hear directly from him about the impact of this loss on him and his 97-year-old mother, Amina.
The airstrike that destroyed their home also destroyed Amina’s wheelchair. Her family now needs to carry her wherever she needs to go. She is just one of the many people who will receive essential supplies thanks to the generosity of the AFSC community.
Thank you again for all the ways you join us in advocating for a more just and peaceful future.
In peace,
Hanady Muhiar
