John, Pride is a celebration. A celebration of community and acceptance among LGBTQ+ people and their allies.

But above all and especially this year, Pride is a protest.

→ A protest against the 500+ anti-LGBTQ bills being proposed across the country
→ A protest against the bullying, harassment, and violence LGBTQ+ people have faced
→ A protest against homophobic and transphobic politicians like Mike Pence and Ron DeSantis who want to spew their hatred from the White House

This is especially true in Florida– where LGBTQ+ groups have issued a travel warning for LGBTQ+ people because of the 17 anti-LGBTQ bills passed, including “Don’t Say LGBTQ,” a gender affirming care ban, an anti-trans bathroom bill, and an anti-drag bill.

So John, as we rally together in Pride this month of June, we also need to rally together to effect real change on all levels of government.

That’s why my campaign needs your help to defeat politicians like Ron DeSantis and Mike Pence who care more about a beer can than the safety and well-being of LGBTQ+ people.

I’m asking for you to help not only my campaign, but also support Equality Florida, the largest civil rights organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida's LGBTQ+ community.

Equality Florida and my team are devoting our resources to organize and mobilize a MOVEMENT of voters to elect Democratic fighters up and down the ballot here in Florida, but long-term organizing efforts aren’t cheap.
