Some issues shouldn’t be political, John. Commonsense gun safety legislation is one of them.

In 2023 there have been 290 mass shootings, including one at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas, not too far from where I'm raising my family. I think about it when I drop my kids off at school or let them go off with a friend – every time they leave my sight, really. I can't imagine any parent not fearing for their child's safety at this rate.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. I refuse to accept there is nothing we can do to stop the epidemic of gun violence and keep our kids safe. For too long, politicians like Ted Cruz have fought to protect the profits of gun manufacturers over the rights and lives of our children. We've watched him offer "thoughts and prayers" for years while accepting more money from pro-gun groups than any other politician. It's got to stop now.

It's long past due that we pass commonsense legislation that the majority of Texans and Americans support. I'm ready to fight with everything I have to keep our kids safe, starting with expanding background checks, red flag laws, and raising the age limit on gun purchases – but I need to know that you're with me, John. So please, before midnight tonight, will you add your name to support these commonsense gun safety measures? →

Progress only happens when we combine our voices and take action together. Thank you for joining my fight to make our communities safer.
