Charlotte City Council Approves $3.3 billion budget

Your voices helped shape our city budget that prioritizes infrastructure development, public safety, sustainability and quality of life. Thank you for your input!

The Charlotte city budget is comprised of the annual operating budget and the FY 2024 – 2028 Capital Investment Plan (CIP). The annual operating budget reflects day-to-day operations, while the CIP represents investments over a five-year time horizon.

  • Preserves operating reserves levels

  • Provides two additional fire companies and 42 fire staff
  • Supports Corridors of Opportunities with a $5 million dollar investment to maintain roads, parks and public spaces
