Exciting news: Congratulations are in order for the filmmakers and everyone behind American Factory, which took home the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature this past weekend!

I'm proud to have played a small role in a film that highlights the struggles American workers face every day in Ohio and across the country.

It's clear: Our fight for the Dignity of Work is more important than ever. Will you chip in to support our fight in Congress?

American Factory tells the story of a former GM factory outside of Dayton that was acquired by Fuyao, a Chinese auto-glass manufacturing corporation. The film shows the dangers of the globalization of our workforce, increasing demand, dangerous workplaces, and prioritizing profits over people.

It's precisely because of those dangers that I encouraged the company to support workers organizing to form a union -- and as the movie shows, that was met with some choice words from corporate executives.
But I don't care what corporate executives say about me. I care about how they treat workers.

American Factory shows the great lengths corporations will go to stop workers from organizing. We need to be fearless in our fight for the Dignity of Work because there will be detractors.

American Factory has arrived at an important time: The current Administration has broken its promises to American workers time and again.

On the campaign trail, President Trump promised to bring jobs back to the U.S., but since he's taken office, factories have closed in Ohio and across the country, taking thousands of jobs with them. Instead of advocating for workers, Trump has spent his time attacking unions and giving tax breaks to the wealthiest in our country.

We need to put workers first -- and that starts with electing Democrats who will join our fight for the Dignity of Work. Will you chip in to support Democrats in 2020?
