You can hardly blame her malfeasance. Conflict of interest appears to be a qualifier for service in Team Biden.

Fox News (6/5/23) reports: "A group of 11 House Republicans is sounding the alarm on Interior Secretary Deb Haaland's potential conflicts of interest related to an action she took last week restricting oil and gas drilling. The Republicans, led by Natural Resources Committee Chairman Bruce Westerman, R-Ark., wrote to Haaland and top Interior Department ethics official Heather Gottry, expressing concern about how her and her family's past activism may have influenced the action. On Friday, Haaland finalized a ban on fossil fuel leasing within 10 miles of the Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico. 'Under the standards of ethical conduct, federal government officials are required to recuse from particular matters involving specific parties where ‘a person with whom he has a covered relationship is or represents a party to such matter,’ unless authorized by the agency to participate.' the Republican lawmakers wrote. 'Furthermore, a federal government official is barred from using their position for the private gain of family members or nonprofit organizations,' the letter continued. The letter noted that Haaland has been involved with the Pueblo Action Alliance (PAA), a New Mexico-based environmental and cultural group that has advocated against new leasing near Chaco Canyon. PAA Executive Director Julia Bernal boasted in 2021 that she met personally with Haaland, whom she referenced as 'Auntie Deb,' about the group's broad opposition to oil and gas leasing."

"Biden is setting up a system where he demands taxpayers co-sign for his bad loan. We take all the risk and money keeps flowing to campaign coffers."

Europe would be far better off if everyone was less like Germany and more like Poland.

Reuters (6/12/23) reports: "Poland will appeal against European Union rules to end the sale of fossil fuel cars across the bloc from 2035 to the top EU court within days, the country's climate minister Anna Moskwa said on Monday. A package of EU regulations approved earlier this year aims at launching a new carbon market to rein in emissions from buildings and transport, cutting carbon emissions from passenger cars and vans to zero from 2035. Poland has been the only country consistently opposing the proposal and voted against the rules, arguing they lacked a proper analysis of market and social consequences of the ban. 'We don't agree with this and other documents from the Fit for 55 package and we're bringing this to the European Court of Justice. I hope other countries will join,' Moskwa told Radio Zet on Monday. 'We will file the motion in the coming days.'"

The Greens don't let facts get in the way of a good narrative and photo op.

Wall Street Journal (6/12/23) column: "An extreme environmental event struck New York last week. The city experienced some of the worst air quality in the world—and the worst to hit the city in at least a half-century—as dense wildfire smoke surged south from the province of Quebec. Headlines suggested that the primary culprit was climate change, but these claims are inconsistent with peer-reviewed science, the observational record and our growing understanding of the meteorology associated with wildfire events...The long-term trend in Quebec has been for both precipitation and temperature to increase. Temperatures have warmed about 2 degrees Fahrenheit over the past half-century. Even assuming that this warming is entirely human-induced, it represents only a small proportion of the excessive heat during the event, in which Quebec temperatures climbed to 20 to 25 degrees above normal. The number of wildfires in Quebec is decreasing; there is no upward trend in area burned, which would be expected if global warming was dominant. The recent intense New York smoke event is a good illustration of the underlying origins of many extreme environmental and weather events. The atmosphere is a chaotic system, dominated by random natural variability. Such variability is like a game of cards—rarely, by the luck of the draw, one is dealt a full house or a straight flush. Climate change’s effects on weather are relatively small compared to random variations inherent in a hugely complex system."

What, Germans don't like the Green's furnace mandate? How unpatriotic of them.

DW (6/10/23) reports: "Some 13,000 people took to the streets in the Bavarian town of Erding in southern Germany on Saturday to protest what they called 'heating ideology.' However, it was not global warming that they were rallying against, but rather a law put forward by the Green Party — one of the members of the ruling coalition — to replace oil and gas heaters from next year. Bavaria's state premier Markus Söder — from the center-right Christian Social Union — also took part as the protest's main speaker. But a representative of the Free Democrats — the pro-business party in coalition with the Greens — was also there, highlighting the main threat to the Green-led legislation securing passage in the Bundestag, possible opposition from within the ruling coalition.  'Stop the heating ideology' Söder took to the stage to launch his tirade against the governing coalition, but was met immediately met with boos which were attributed to supporters of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party who had shown up."
